Please read before submitting


  1. One school is only allowed to submit one (1) entry.
  2. The champion school from 2025 may participate in the current year, but the presenters must not be members of the team that won.
  3. Each team comprises of three (3) main members
  4. Submissions must include presentations from all the registered members of the team
    • Only registered members will be eligible for NICTSED 2026.
  5. Upon qualification for NICTSED 2026, only the three (3) registered team members will be invited to participate in the national level discourse
    • In the event that one (1) team member is unable to attend the national level competition, the team may continue to participate with the remaining two (2) members.
  6. Team members can be any student from Form 1 to Form 4, from the same school.
    • The qualifying team is NOT allowed to change the registered team members.
  7. State level competition
    • State selection panels are responsible to select representatives for their state finalists.

    • States will conduct state level competition(s) to determine state representatives to NICTSeD 2026
  8. If the selected school(s) withdraw, the school with the next highest score will represent.
    • Any withdrawal must be with an official letter from the principal.
  9. The selected school MUST confirm the participation within 3 days once the results are announced.
  10. The title for the qualifying submission is:

    “DIGITAL DISCERNMENT”

  11. Submission must be in the form of video and MUST comply with the technical requirements as follows:
    • Video Duration
      • Maximum length: 5 minutes
      • Videos exceeding 5 minutes will NOT be evaluated.
      • Each of the three (3) members of the team MUST speak for at least one (1) minute.
    • Video Format & Orientation
      • Aspect Ratio: 9:16 (VERTICAL)
      • Recommended Resolution: 1080 × 1920 (Full HD)
      • Minimum Resolution: 720p
      • File Format: MP4
    • Audio Quality
      • Audio must be clear and audible.
      • Avoid excessive background noise.
      • No copyrighted background music unless properly licensed.
      • Submissions presented mainly via voiceover are discouraged.
      • Subtitles are optional.
    • Hosting & Submission Method
      • Video must be uploaded to YouTube.
      • Visibility setting must be set to “Unlisted.”
      • Submit the Unlisted video link via the official submission form.
    • Content Compliance
      • The video must be original work created by the participant.
      • The video must not contain inappropriate, offensive, or unlawful content.
      • Participants are responsible for obtaining consent from any individuals appearing in the video.
      • File Naming
        • Suggested title format:
          SCHOOLCODE_SCHOOLNAME_NICTSED2026
  12. Submission starts from 12.00 am on 6th APRIL 2025 until 11.59 pm on 6th MAY 2025. All submissions after the deadline will be disqualified.
  13. Submissions must be made through respective link NICTSED .cybersafe.my/registration
  14. Submission MUST be original, copyrighted materials are PROHIBITED.
    Note: teams are reminded that
    • The content of their submission carries a 50% weight in the selection process.
    • Clarity and use of language in presentation is important; 40% weightage in the selection process
    • Technicalities; 10% weightage in the selection process
  15. Jurors’ decision is FINAL. No appeal will be entertained.
  16. The teams which qualify for NICTSED 2026 will be announced through CyberSAFE® Instagram account on 7th JULY 2026.
  17. Qualified teams will be contacted through a formal invitation letter.
  18. Qualified teams will compete in NICTSED 2026 as follows
    • State level selection/competition – to be determined by individual state SSTP and MARA
    • Quarter Finals (online): 30 July 2026
    • Semi-Finals and Grand Final (face-to-face) are tentatively scheduled from 6 September – 11 September 2026 in Kelantan
  19. By participating in the Qualifying Round, the team agrees to our terms and conditions.

  • The Organizing Committee reserves the right to change the terms and conditions for this competition without prior notice.
  • CyberSecurity Malaysia and MOE reserve the right to use any or all materials information presented during the discourse.
